hey-capt keeps your boat's paperwork in one place and answers questions about it. These terms cover the beta. By using it you agree to them.

This is a beta

The beta is by invitation. The app is still being built: features will change, some will break, and the app may be unavailable at times. Keep your original documents - hey-capt is not a replacement for them.

The beta is free. If that ever changes, we will tell you first, and nothing is charged without your agreement.

Your documents stay yours

You own everything you upload. You let us store it and read it only so the app can work for you: filing each document, pulling out facts, totalling spend and answering your questions. Only upload documents you have the right to share.

Anyone you add to a boat can see that boat's documents and everything read from them.

Check before you rely on it

An AI model reads your documents and writes the answers. It can misread a page or miss something. Every fact shows the document and the words it came from, so you can check it.

hey-capt is not a surveyor, mechanic, insurer, lawyer or accountant. Before any decision about safety, insurance, a sale or money, check the original document or ask a professional.

Fair use

• Don't try to reach another person's boat or data.
• Don't disrupt, overload or probe the service.
• Don't upload anything unlawful.

Stopping

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the privacy policy). We may end the beta, or your access to it, and will give you notice and time to ask for your data first unless you have broken these terms.

No guarantees

The beta is provided as it is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it, including decisions made on its answers or data that is lost or unavailable.

Changes

If these terms or the privacy policy change, the new version carries a new date and the app asks you to agree again before you continue.
